Seafarer support website launched

Globalstar launches IoT module

Globalstar is launching a new STINGR system, integrating the company’s STX3 simplex satellite transmitter with a GPS receiver and a dual band antenna, to create a unit for use in Internet of Things (IoT)-based solutions for remote sensing, tracking and monitoring of assets like ships and containers.

Kongsberg Maritime is to install a range of technology systems aboard Australian cruise line Scenic Cruises’ new ice class cruise ship, the 228-passenger, 168 metre long Scenic Eclipse, which is currently under construction at Uljanik Shipyard in Croatia ahead of expected delivery during 2018.

Rolls-Royce and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland have announced a strategic partnership focusing on the design, testing and validation of first generation remote and autonomous ships, with the eventual aim of making such vessels a commercial reality.

LR buys maintenance data software company

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has acquired RTAMO Ltd, a software consultancy based in Aberdeen in the UK, which provides data-driven maintenance optimisation systems designed to reduce costs for asset owners.

BCG releases Furuno radar emulation

Buffalo Computer Graphics (BCG) has added another emulation product to its family of Radar Emulators, to cover the Furuno FAR21X7 radar.
