Hanseatic adds web-based MRV module

Maritime software provider Hanseaticsoft has launched a web-based Cloud MRV module for managing compliance with upcoming EU MRV (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification) regulations.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The MRV requirements come into force on 1st January 2018, and will apply to all vessels of more than 5,000 GT calling at any EU port and aims to quantify CO2 emissions from shipping. To comply, shipping companies must capture and report on a range of data, including origin and destination information, emissions for each type of fuel consumed during the voyage, as well as distance travelled and cargo carried.

Hanseaticsoft’s Cloud MRV module provides the ability to manage the data monitoring, capture and reporting process within the application. Data can be input from the ship, which is then aggregated, synchronised and transmitted to relevant parties.

All data is managed in one system and any further calculations needed can be carried out automatically within the software. The data is automatically processed and the results prepared in a format ready for submission to a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) approved by the EC for verification purposes.

“Using our Cloud Ship Manager (CSM) all data can be captured offline on board and synchronised to the Cloud as soon as there is an internet connection available,” said Alexander Buchmann, managing director of Hanseaticsoft.

“With all data stored in the Cloud, all that is required is internet access to inspect data from all vessels. This can be done at any time or in any location.”

“Data is transmitted from the vessels easily and can be accessed immediately by relevant parties who can inspect reports about their entire fleet using their web browser. They don’t have to install any software in the office.”

Companies that want to monitor performance to a level beyond the MRV requirements have the option to upgrade to a more fully-featured Event Reporting system within the Hanseaticsoft Cloud Fleet Manager (CFM) platform, with additional data such as docking times, machine-related data and bunker analysis.{/mprestriction}
