Four-year IT contract for Maersk Tankers

Maersk Tankers has agreed a long-term strategic ICT systems and support deal with Sea IT, covering all vessels operating within its fleet.

UKHO warning on counterfeit charts

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) says it has observed an increase in the number of counterfeit versions of ADMIRALTY charts and publications in circulation, and is re-issuing a warning over the dangers these fakes pose to the safety of vessels, crew and cargo.

The IMO has issued a notification to inform the maritime industry that its Facilitation Committee is expected to adopt mandatory requirements at its meetings this week for the electronic exchange of information on cargo, crew and passengers, as part of a revised annex to the 1965 Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic (FAL).

Softship has launched a new cloud-based software system designed specifically for port agents, a pay-as-you-go tool that manages all port agency and husbandry activities in a single online platform.
