SPOS updates to version 9

Weather routing software provider MeteoGroup has introduced a new version of its SPOS (Ship Performance Optimization System) application, with SPOS9 designed to support reductions in fuel consumption and emissions by calculating and recalculating optimum routes and anticipating oncoming weather and sea conditions.

Norwegian coastal radar deal agreed

Kongsberg Norcontrol reports that it has signed a framework agreement with the Norwegian Coastal Administration for delivery, operation and maintenance of radars for the nation’s maritime traffic service.

Denmark’s Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs has announced its intention to implement blockchain technologies to reduce the administrative burden faced by vessel operators in the maritime sector.
