Orbcomm has announced that Global Ocean Security Technologies (GOST), a provider of marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems, has selected Orbcomm’s next-generation satellite IoT technology to upgrade its global vessel tracking and security systems.

Ocean Infinity acquires MMT

Ocean Infinity and MMT have announced an acquisition that brings together MMT’s expertise in marine surveys and data analytics and Ocean Infinity’s robotic technology and operational expertise.

Acquisitions in maritime connectivity

Over the last two months, the maritime and offshore satellite connectivity market has been sparked with a bout of merger and acquisition activities, writes Joshua Flood, senior research consultant at Valour Consultancy.

Hurtigruten has revealed that a cyber-attack back in December 2020 may have affected passengers’ personal information, such as names, dates of birth, passport numbers and passport expiration dates. Customers' email addresses, mailing addresses, and/or phone numbers might also have been affected by this incident, the cruise line has announced.
