AIDA selects ABB energy monitoring

ABB reports that German-based cruise operator AIDA has selected its EMMA energy monitoring and management system for use across the company’s 10 vessels, with a view to reducing energy costs and emissions across the entire fleet.

ABB for LNG passenger ferry

ABB reports that it has been selected by Estonian shipping company Tallink Grupp to outfit its new LNG-powered passenger ferry with a number of solutions, including energy management and remote diagnostics.

Amarcon, an ABB Group company, reports that Singapore-based Pioneer Marine has selected its OCTOPUS-Onboard fuel monitoring systems for 12 Handysize bulk carriers currently under construction at the YangZhou GuoYu shipyard in China.

OCTOPUS-Onboard integrates real time wave data

Amarcon, the developer of OCTOPUS-Onboard, has integrated the Wave and Surface Current Monitoring System (WaMoS II) from OceanWaveS into its advisory suite. The combination is being demonstrated at SMM.

Automation group ABB today reports that it has signed a 15-year service agreement of over $50 million with Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCC) that will see it deliver condition-based maintenance services to six vessels.

Amarcon announced today that Pan Ocean has ordered its ship monitoring system OCTOPUS-Onboard for two semi-submersible heavy lift vessels.

ABB energy management for Balearia ferry

ABB today reports that Spanish ferry operator Balearia has ordered its EMMA energy management software. The advisory software will be installed on board the ferry Martin i Soler, with an option to extend the project to two further vessels in the Balearia fleet.

Second OCTOPUS for Seaway Heavy Lifting

Amarcon, a subsidiary of ABB, today announced that Dutch offshore contractor Seaway Heavy Lifting has ordered its OCTOPUS-Onboard product for its monohull crane vessel Stanislav Yudin.

NAPA and ABB partner on efficiency

NAPA and ABB today announced that they have signed a cooperation agreement whereby NAPA’s Loading Computer and electronic Logbook will be offered under ABB’s Vessel Information and Control (VICO) portfolio, as part of a ship efficiency solution.
