SkyFile hits 50 million e-mails for 2013

Airbus Defence and Space, formerly Astrium Services, reports that its SkyFile Mail software passed the milestone of carrying more than 50 million e-mails in 2013 - a new record for the company.

Astrium renamed as Airbus

Astrium Services has announced that it will operate, with immediate effect, under its new name Airbus Defence and Space, a division of Airbus Group.

Christmas has come a week early for Inmarsat as the company has announced that it is to acquire distribution partner Globe Wireless for $45 million, while also confirming the signing of a deal to make its largest maritime partner Astrium Services a distributor for Global Xpress.

Astrium Services has been announced as the new Global Sponsor of the 2014 Digital Ship conference and exhibition series, beginning with the next event in Hamburg in February.

PRONAUTAS signs CFL and Jan De Nul

PRONAUTAS has announced two new contracts for communications and navigation systems respectively, having agreed to equip the whole CFL fleet with Ku-band VSAT while also signing a separate contract to install Transas ECDIS on Jan De Nul Group vessels.

Astrium Services has signed two new separate Ku-band capacity agreements with Eutelsat and SES, which it says will improve its performance in Europe, the Middle East and North America.
