YA-SA Ship Management & Trading, based in Istanbul, Turkey, has agreed a contract for the supply of global vessel tracking and monitoring services from BigOceanData following a successful initial trial on five vessels.
Maersk has agreed a new expanded contract with BigOceanData for the supply of vessel tracking services, extending the companies’ previous agreement by 30 months and increasing the number of vessels covered.
Maersk Line, the world’s largest container shipping company, has entered into a two-year agreement with BigOceanData for the provision of vessel tracking services. The initial system is now live and already in use in operation centres around the world on both desktop and mobile devices.
The BigOceanData vessel monitoring system is adding new functionality, with the system now providing Notices to Mariners as a background service while also adding distance tables to enhance routing capabilities. Weather and accessibility upgrades have additionally been added.
BigOceanData and Alltek Technology Singapore have won a tender to supply AIS vessel monitoring services to a Singapore government organisation, with the system now already live.
BigOceanData has extended its contract with the Government of the Falkland Islands to provide its vessel monitoring system (VMS) capability for another five years, while also adding AIS data for the first time, which will be integrated with existing Inmarsat tracking data.
