Crew certificate blockchain in development

Maritime Blockchain Labs (MBL), a joint initiative between BLOC and the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, has announced the establishment of a consortium to pilot a blockchain-based seafarer certification system, which includes The Mission to Seafarers, Maersk, Heidmar, PTC Holdings Corp, Hanseaticsoft, Navozyme and C-LOG.

Testing begins on bunker fuel blockchain

Maritime Blockchain Labs (MBL), a partnership between Lloyd’s Register Foundation and BLOC to explore the use of blockchain for the maritime industry, has announced its first demonstrator project, a fuel provenance register that aims to provide trusted information about fuel origin, journey and characteristics.

GoodFuels Marine reports that it has successfully completed what it claims is the world’s first bunker delivery and transaction using blockchain technology, in collaboration with Blockchain Labs for Open Collaboration (BLOC).

Blockchain consortium for marine fuels

Maritime Blockchain Labs (MBL), a subsidiary of Blockchain Labs for Open Collaboration (BLOC), has established a consortium including Lloyd’s Register, Precious Shipping, Bostomar, BIMCO, International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) and GoodFuels, which aims to address traceability and transparency in the marine fuel supply chain using blockchain technologies.

Lloyd’s Register Foundation (LRF) and Blockchain Labs for Open Collaboration (BLOC) have announced a funding partnership to set up Maritime Blockchain Labs (MBL), a new research initiative to explore the potential application of blockchain technologies in the global maritime industry.

Logistics technology company Marine Transport International (MTI) has announced that it has successfully completed a pilot project to improve supply chain efficiency through the deployment of blockchain technologies.
