TEU cryptocurrency gets Coopernic Group boost

300cubits’ roll out of its TEU cryptocurrency for the shipping industry has received a boost with the news that members of Coopernic Group, a strategic buying alliance from Europe, have confirmed their participation in the project by joining the Shipper Sign-Up Scheme for the new crypto tokens.

The seemingly endless stream of maritime blockchain projects has had another addition with the launch of a new cryptocurrency called SHIPs (Shipping Industry Participations), which aims to tokenise marine assets to allow them to be traded in small chunks, opening up the asset financing market to a wider range of smaller participants.

The OceanChain Foundation has launched a new blockchain-based platform to support maritime trade, including a related cryptocurrency called Ocash designed to be used in settlement of cross-border transactions or transactions in international waters.

Shipping cryptocurrency start-up 300cubits has confirmed the launch date for its Shipper Sign-Up Scheme, with relevant stakeholders being invited to register to receive their free TEU crypto tokens from February 1, 2018.
