Buzz Networks launches CrewCode

UK-based maritime GSM data company Buzz Marine has announced the launch of its new CrewCode service, a voucher based system similar to those used in hotels whereby users are given, or purchase, a code for a fixed data allowance to access onboard Wi-Fi networks.

Buzz Marine reports that it has delivered approximately 40 of its HubbaX 4 Duo mobile broadband systems to Humboldt Ship Management in Santiago, Chile, for use on the UltraNav and UltraTug fleets of inshore vessels, tugs and pilot boats.

Buzz Marine has introduced a new multifunctional communications system for the commercial maritime market, which provides 3G and 4G GSM broadband up to 15 miles offshore.

4G broadband for IFCA vessels

Buzz Marine is supplying its HubbaX4 Go marine broadband systems to five vessels from the UK’s Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (IFCA), providing the ships with 4G connectivity while at sea.

Buzz Marine will supply 9 of its HubbaX4 Go marine broadband devices to the Fred. Olsen fleet of high speed catamarans that operate between the Canary Islands.
