COMSAT offers Iridium Certus to US maritime users

COMSAT is offering Iridium Certus service to maritime users to improve connectivity and transmit sensitive information via the low earth orbit satellite communications network.

COMSAT reports that it has added a range of cyber security systems for the maritime industry, inspired by IMO’s decision to require cyber risk management to be incorporated into safety management systems established under the ISM Code.

Speedcast has signed an agreement with government satellite connectivity provider COMSAT to establish a common global service offering of Ku-band VSAT services for both the government and maritime markets.
