ClassNK launches mobile app for NK-SHIPS

ClassNK has launched its NK-SHIPS app, a mobile version of the classification society’s free, web-based information service for owners, operators, and managers of NK-classed vessels or vessels whose ISM/ISPS/MLC are registered with the Japanese organisation.

ClassNK has established a new digital archive centre for the maritime industry called ClassNK Archive Center (NKAC), to house Ship Construction Files in accordance with IMO’s Goal-based ship construction standards (GBS) and the Industry Standard, which apply from 1 July 2016.

Condition based monitoring for MOL

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has installed a condition-based monitoring (CBM) system from ClassNK Consulting Service on the M/V Taranaki Sun, the system’s first commercial application.

“K” Line to implement CMAXS LC-A

“K” Line Ship Management in Singapore is to implement ClassNK’s machinery condition monitoring and automatic diagnostic system ClassNK CMAXS LC-A on one of its container vessels, the first commercial application of the software.

Weather data added to ShipDC

ClassNK’s wholly owned database services subsidiary Ship Data Center (ShipDC) has agreed a deal to add marine weather information from the Japan Weather Association to its data store.

Ship Data Center, a wholly owned subsidiary set up by ClassNK, has officially commenced operations at its Big Data centre, ShipDC.

ClassNK software expands outside Japan

Two ClassNK software packages, CMAXS PMS and CMAXS SPICS, have been installed on two ships managed by Manila-based Rosy Star Ocean Vessels Management, the first installation of the applications by shipping companies outside of Japan.

MOL launches Big Data trial

Japan-based Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) is to trial a new system  of onboard data gathering and transmission from its operated vessels to the ClassNK-owned Ship Data Center, a new organisation which offers consolidated management of vessel operational data.

ClassNK updates hull software

In response to the latest amendments to the IACS Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers (CSR BC & OT), ClassNK reports that it has just released the latest update to its PrimeShip-HULL(HCSR) software, with the launch of version 3.0.0.

Namura Shipbuilding has deployed the ClassNK-NAPA GREEN fleet performance management and optimisation system for one of its newbuilds, the company reports.
