MOL launches Big Data trial

Japan-based Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) is to trial a new system  of onboard data gathering and transmission from its operated vessels to the ClassNK-owned Ship Data Center, a new organisation which offers consolidated management of vessel operational data.

ClassNK updates hull software

In response to the latest amendments to the IACS Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers (CSR BC & OT), ClassNK reports that it has just released the latest update to its PrimeShip-HULL(HCSR) software, with the launch of version 3.0.0.

Namura Shipbuilding has deployed the ClassNK-NAPA GREEN fleet performance management and optimisation system for one of its newbuilds, the company reports.

ClassNK has released its new structural design support system PrimeShip-HULL for Container Carriers, to correspond with the latest amendments to its Rules and Guidance for the Survey and Construction of Steel Ships.

ClassNK creates Ship Data Center

ClassNK has established a new Ship Data Center subsidiary in Tokyo, a wholly owned business that aims to support the utilisation of data gathered from ship operations to drive operational improvement.

Classification society ClassNK has commenced verification tests of its next-generation condition-based monitoring (CBM) system, CMAXS e-GICSX, for Mitsui’s MAN B&W engines.
