The first ships to be classed with Lloyd’s Register’s cyber notations for onboard technology have been delivered to Global United in Korea. Built by Hanjin Heavy Industries, in collaboration with Alpha Ori Technology, the ships have been awarded the notation Cyber (AL-SAFE) certifying the autonomous systems on board as safe.

DNV GL has launched a new application on its My DNV GL portal, a Port State Control (PSC) Planner designed to provide an overview of a vessel’s or fleet’s PSC performance and to benchmark that performance against the IACS classed world fleet.

Lloyd’s Register (LR), in collaboration with RaonX Solutions (RaonX), has released new software to assist shipbuilders with the more stringent requirements demanded in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) under the latest IACS and Classification Rules.

ClassNK has received authorisation from the Liberian Registry to provide Liberian flagged vessels with electronic certificates for statutory surveys, the first international classification society to be authorised by the Registry to issue certificates in electronic form.

ClassNK updates PrimeShip-HULL

Mobile app for PSC inspection prep launched

ClassNK has released its new ‘Arrival Checklist for PSC’ application, a preparatory checklist mobile app for Port State Control (PSC) inspections.

ClassNK and Hitachi Zosen Corporation report that they have completed a joint study of the new CMAXS LC-A condition-based monitoring and automatic diagnostic system for Hitachi MAN B&W engines.

ClassNK has begun operational trials for a new ‘ClassNK e-Certificate’, a system to provide ships’ class certificates and statutory certificates issued on behalf of flag states in electronic format.
