CBO OSVs deploy VSAT and TVRO systems

Companhia Brasileira de Offshore (CBO) is to install Cobham SATCOM VSAT and satellite TV (TVRO) antennas, as well as additional radio communication equipment, on six new offshore support vessels (OSVs) set to enter service on development contracts offshore Brazil during 2017 and 2018.

Cobham launches Iridium Certus terminal

Cobham SATCOM has unveiled its first Iridium Certus Connected terminal, the SAILOR 4300, with the first customer shipment expected before the end of the year.

Cobham SATCOM reports that it has passed the milestone of delivering its 50,000th SAILOR FleetBroadband terminal, ten years after the system was launched in parallel with Inmarsat’s L-band maritime satcom service in 2007.

BCG updates virtual GMDSS simulator

Buffalo Computer Graphics (BCG) has upgraded its Virtual Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (VGMDSS) simulation software to add a new Inmarsat-C and Radio Telex terminal simulation.

Telenor Satellite and Cobham have signed an agreement for the supply of SAILOR Ka-band antenna systems to the satellite operator, to be provided to customers of Telenor’s latest generation Ka-band High Throughput Satellite (HTS) service, THOR 7.

Cobham to add new 60cm Ku-band antenna

Cobham has announced that a Ku-band version of its SAILOR 60cm antenna technology platform will be made available this summer, the SAILOR 600 VSAT Ku, which will be aimed at expanding its customer reach to end-users for whom more traditional 1m systems are not suitable.

SpeedCast and Cobham agree partner deal

Cobham SATCOM and SpeedCast have announced a global framework agreement for the provision of maritime stabilised satcom antennas, which will run for three years.

Inmarsat, working with Global Xpress reseller Network Innovations (NI) and its partner Fusion Marine Technology, has signed a contract with Alaskan Leader Fisheries to install Fleet Xpress for its fleet of ships operating in the Bering Sea.
