C-MAP updates IMS

C-MAP has announced an update to its Integrated Maritime Suite (IMS), with version 2.0 having been developed based on collaboration with customers to integrate a range of different voyage management tools.

PC Maritime has launched a new route optimisation system, developed in line with the latest ECDIS standards to allow exported vessel routes to be reviewed and modified by ship managers, port authorities and relevant shore-based authorities.

Radio Holland Netherlands has agreed a deal to supply a full package of navigation and communications equipment from Furuno to six vessels being built at Royal Bodewes in Hoogezand, the Netherlands.

Nautisk automates ECDIS updates

Nautisk has launched an automated ECDIS chart updating system, integrated into a new hardware product called NaviUpdate.

Scottish maritime technology provider MarineMTS has launched a new hardware system called Silverbox, used to manage electronic chart and navigational data updates on board ship.

Direct ECDIS connection for Baltic warnings

The Baltic Navigational Warning Service, created as part of the STM (Sea Traffic Management) Validation project, has added a function to allow navigational warnings to be sent directly to an onboard ECDIS unit using digital machine to machine communication, automating the process to make information available more quickly and to reduce crew workloads.

Nautisk and Furuno ink partnership

Nautisk has announced a new partnership with Japan-based marine electronics firm Furuno Electronics, which will see the companies work together on the development of new products combining their respective experience in the software and hardware sectors.

Poseidon Navigation Services has launched its new Challenger software system, for management of the delivery of digital charts and weekly navigational updates.

Seafarer S-Mode sentiments sought

The Nautical Institute (NI) has begun a consultation process to help assess the latest proposals for standardised navigation equipment, under which it intends to seek the views of seafarers on the introduction of an ‘S-Mode’ on critical navigation systems.

Nautisk reports that it has added on-demand chart printing services for South America to its portfolio, with the launch of a new Print on Demand Location (PODL) service on the continent.
