German fleet to install Transas ECDIS

PRONAUTAS, a Transas dealer for the German market, is to supply the Hermann Lohmann Bereederungen fleet with ECDIS systems.

The International Centre for ENCs (IC-ENC) is to provide its 37 member nations with ChartWorld eGlobe G2 ECDIS software from SevenCs to supplement ENC production and validation processes.

Transas ECDIS has been selected for installation on board 20 Indonesian surveillance vessels, the company reports.

Radio Holland reports that it has completed a customised cruise ship bridge retrofit on the MS Noordam for Holland America Line.

Kongsberg Maritime, working with the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO), has added AIO (Admiralty Information Overlay) functionality to its latest K-Bridge ECDIS and K-Nav ECDIS software, to make additional chart information available to the mariner when using its ECDIS models.

In response to a request from V.Ships, PC Maritime says it has added an internet delivery capability to its Navmaster ECDIS type-specific training.

Global ECDIS Training Network expands into China

The New Alliance Marine Training Centre (NAMTC) has joined the Transas Global ECDIS Training Network (GET-Net), to become the first GET-Net partner in China.

Transas has agreed two new contracts to supply ECDIS systems to shipping companies in Korea, with Dong-A Tanker and Woolim Shipping set to implement the company’s equipment on their vessels.

IHO updates ECDIS standards

The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) has published new versions of some of its ECDIS Standards, reviewed and updated to reflect lessons learned from earlier reports of unexpected chart behaviour in some ECDIS.

The shareholders of the Transas Group have decided to focus brand activities exclusively on the maritime IT market, with other business segments to be rebranded in accordance with the new strategy.
