SeaBird seismic vessels renew EMC VSAT contract

Global Eagle Entertainment reports that it has signed a multi-year contract renewal for the provision of VSAT satellite communication services for SeaBird Exploration in Norway.

Global Eagle Entertainment has entered into a three-year global distribution agreement with Lagardère Sports, a producer and distributor of sports programming, which will give GEE the rights to distribute over 10,000 hours of live and produced sports programming to commercial flights and ships at sea through its global VSAT networks.

Nakilat of Qatar implements EMC VSAT

GEE signs video content deal

Global Eagle Entertainment, which recently completed the purchase of maritime VSAT company EMC, reports that it has entered into a global distribution agreement with The QYOU, a provider of hosted online short-form video content, that will link its offerings with GEE’s Entertainment in Motion division.

EMC, recently acquired by Global Eagle Entertainment (pending closure of the deal), reports that it has taken orders to supply VSAT equipment and services for seven platform supply vessels in the North Sea as part of a four-year fleet agreement with GulfMark in Norway.

Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Emerging Markets Communications (EMC), a provider of communications services to maritime and other mobility markets.

EMC reports that it has entered a long-term strategic agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to provide satellite internet and entertainment services to the passenger vessel operator, mixed with additional shore-based connectivity services.
