ClassNK expands e-Certificate programme

ClassNK reports that it has expanded its electronic certificate service for classification and statutory certificates to include the flag states of Panama, Singapore, and the Marshall Islands.

Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCC) has signed a deal with NAVTOR to install the NavBox system across its entire corporate fleet of 49 vessels, spanning the six different operating companies within RCC.

A technology start-up at the port of Antwerp called T-Mining is currently working on a pilot project that aims to make container handling more efficient and secure by deploying blockchain technology to digitally manage container processes involving multiple parties.

ClassNK reports that it will commence operation of its electronic certificate service for classification and statutory certificates from 15 June 2017, with the ClassNK e-Certificate service to initially be made available exclusively to Liberian-flagged vessels on the ClassNK register.

The Maritime Administrator of the Marshall Islands has extended its approval of the electronic K-Fleet Logbook system for digital reporting of oil record and garbage record logbooks.

ChartCo buys Docmap

ChartCo has announced that it has completed a deal to acquire maritime digital document management company Docmap.

ClassNK has received authorisation from the Liberian Registry to provide Liberian flagged vessels with electronic certificates for statutory surveys, the first international classification society to be authorised by the Registry to issue certificates in electronic form.

Misje Rederi has begun the roll out of the Nautisk NaviTab system across its fleet, to be used for managing and accessing digital navigation data and publications.

essDOCS acquires eCertify

essDOCS has moved to expand its paperless trading offering with the acquisition of eCertify, a provider of electronic Certificates of Origin.

ClassNK has begun operational trials for a new ‘ClassNK e-Certificate’, a system to provide ships’ class certificates and statutory certificates issued on behalf of flag states in electronic format.
