essDOCS working with SWIFT

essDOCS, which provides electronic documents for cargo movements, today announced two new services: allowing the electronic presentation of trade documents over the SWIFT network, and extending electronic bills of lading (eB/L) to support Bank Payment Obligations (BPO).

essDOCS today announced that its electronic bill of lading (eB/L) solution has been used for the first time for a container movement.

UKHO launches ADMIRALTY e-Nautical Publications

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has launched a number of its Nautical Publications (NP) as e-books, to allow bridge crews to add Notices to Mariners (NM) updates faster, and give them easier access to information.

The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) today announced that Azerbaijan, Estonia and Qatar have confirmed their approval for the use of digital nautical publications to satisfy SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) carriage requirements, bringing the total number of Flag States to do so to 76, representing 78 per cent of the world's vessels over 2,000 gross tonnes in size.

CargoDocs for iron ore trade

ESS (Electronic Shipping Solutions) has reported that BHP Billiton, Royal Bank of Scotland, Westpac Banking Corporation, Cargill and Minerva Marine have recently completed the first iron ore trade using its CargoDocs electronic bill of lading and eUCP Presentation solutions.

Electronic Shipping Solutions (ESS) has announced that Zeeland Refinery has adopted CargoDocs for Barges.
