Nautisk automates ECDIS updates

Nautisk has launched an automated ECDIS chart updating system, integrated into a new hardware product called NaviUpdate.

Scottish maritime technology provider MarineMTS has launched a new hardware system called Silverbox, used to manage electronic chart and navigational data updates on board ship.

Speedcast reports that it is partnering with SRH Marine to provide a new Navigation as a Service (NaaS) product, offering distribution of electronic navigational charts and updates over satellite, managed by Speedcast’s SIGMA Gateway platform linked with SRH’s Pilot service.

The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has published a new edition of ADMIRALTY Ocean Passages for the World (NP136), incorporating information on the world’s busiest trade routes, and routes of increasing importance due to shifting macroeconomic trends, based on analysis of global AIS tracking data.

NAVTOR’s digital chart table, NavStation, will now have UKHO’s ADMIRALTY e-Nautical Publications (AENPs) integrated into its software, via a new option within the upcoming NavStation 4.1 release.

Nautisk and Furuno ink partnership

Nautisk has announced a new partnership with Japan-based marine electronics firm Furuno Electronics, which will see the companies work together on the development of new products combining their respective experience in the software and hardware sectors.

Poseidon Navigation Services has launched its new Challenger software system, for management of the delivery of digital charts and weekly navigational updates.

Nautisk reports that it has added on-demand chart printing services for South America to its portfolio, with the launch of a new Print on Demand Location (PODL) service on the continent.

ChartCo has announced the launch of its new web-based FleetManager software, allowing shore-based customers to access live ship management and tracking data via a web browser, on desktops, smartphones and tablets.
