KVH Industries has introduced the TracVision UHD7, a high-performance 60 cm (24 inch) marine satellite TV antenna designed to provide boat owners, charter yacht guests, and commercial vessel crews with access to ultra high-definition (UHD) and 4K programming from DIRECTV as well as regular HD programming from other satellite TV providers.

MTN Communications reports that it delivered the recent world title boxing fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao live to 30 vessels across the globe, via its high-definition MTN Worldwide TV service (MTN-TV HD).

Content platform from Motive nears launch

MTN launches live HDTV at sea

MTN Communications has announced the launch of its high-definition live television service at sea, in what it claims is a first for the maritime industry.

UK-based company Satstream Media has announced the launch of SatstreamNet, a multicast-IP content delivery network developed specifically for the maritime industry.

Following on from its recent acquisition of Headland Media, KVH is to further extend its strategic move into the content delivery space with the launch of a new IP-MobileCast service for its mini-VSAT Broadband satellite network.

KVH moves into content

KVH Industries has acquired Headland Media, a UK-based company which distributes licenced content such as movies, sports and music to the maritime industry. It is the first time that KVH has moved from providing vessels with a satellite connection to also offering its own content via its mini-VSAT Broadband network.
