Phasor raises $16m in funding

Flat panel satellite antenna company Phasor reports that it has raised $16 million in new funding from a group of satellite communications mobility companies, financial investors and shareholders.

Flat panel antenna company Phasor has announced an agreement with OmniAccess to become its first commercial launch partner in the maritime broadband market, initially aimed at serving super yachts, with beta trials of the electronically steerable antenna (ESA) systems planned for early 2018 ahead of its initial commercial product introduction.

Kymeta prepares for KĀLO service launch

Flat panel antenna company Kymeta has formed a new KĀLO business unit in preparation for the launch of commercial availability of its new service, operating on the Intelsat satellite network.

Flat panel satcom antenna company Phasor has announced a new partnership with DSM to develop a radome for its phased array, electronically steerable antennas (ESAs) using DSM’s Dyneema technology.

Kymeta has made a series of announcements aimed at hastening the introduction of the company’s flat panel satcom antenna technology to the market, as it confirmed the first commercial trials for the product alongside the launch of a new bundled service package, as well as the sale of an equity stake in the firm to satellite operator Intelsat.

Flat panel antenna company Phasor has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thales Alenia Space (TAS) for the development of a software-defined terminal for commercial Ka-band satellite communications.

Flat panel antenna company Kymeta has completed a series of performance tests during a week-long demonstration of the technology at the Monaco Yacht Show, ahead of pilot production of the antennas in December 2016 and commercial availability in Q2 of next year.

Phasor has completed a successful demonstration of the transmission of live HD video over its flat panel, electronically steered antenna (ESA) system, connecting with the Intelsat 903 satellite from its test site in Essex, UK, as the company works towards full commercialisation of the technology.
