Impala Paraguay rolls out Inmarsat Fleet Xpress

Inmarsat has equipped four Paraná River push boats operated by Impala Paraguay with Fleet Xpress connectivity, in a breakthrough for maritime broadband inland along one of South America’s longest waterways.

Ship manager Roxana Shipping has recently completed a major technology upgrade project, installing Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress (FX) on all ten of its tanker fleet. The project has provided each vessel with the two Mb FX package in combination with Infinity Plus and Cobham 60 GX antennas, resulting in a significant bandwidth and technology boost for both their business and crew welfare requirements.

Greek ship operator Minerva Marine has installed Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress alongside Navarino technology onboard the majority of its managed vessels.

Inmarsat is ramping up its response to COVID-19 with additional initiatives to improve seafarer wellbeing. These initiatives include further collaboration with ISWAN (International Seafarers’ Welfare and Assistance Network) and maritime charities, the launch of a new chatcard and the wider roll-out of a COVID-19 video telemedicine call service.

Laskaridis Shipping Company has recently completed the rollout of Inmarsat Fleet Xpress across its fleet of more than 40 bulkers. Having previously used Fleet Broadband, the upgrade to the Fleet Xpress 2 MB/s MIR plan is part of a forward-thinking modernisation process, in conjunction with Navarino, as the company moves towards a fully digital fleet.

Paradise Navigation adopts Fleet Xpress and Infinity

Ship manager Paradise Navigation, which operates a fleet of 10 vessels, comprising four tankers and six LPGs, is in the process of a fleet wide rollout of Fleet Xpress, having already upgraded from Fleet Broadband on two tankers.
