Japanese ECDIS manufacturer FURUNO reports that its NavSkills network of training centres issued its 10,000th ECDIS type-specific training certificate in June.

Pivot Maritime International has become the first Australian training centre to be accredited by FURUNO to provide type-specific ECDIS familiarisation courses, the Japanese ECDIS manufacturer has announced.

Furuno today announced that its NavSkills network of training centres has been expanded with a further two locations in Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) and Mola di Bari (Italy).

Imtech Marine has opened a new Training Centre in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Hosted by its Radio Holland Middle East subsidiary, the facility has started with a type-specific ECDIS Training Course for Navigators and Masters to meet the demand for ECDIS familiarisation.

Furuno introduces new ECDIS series

Furuno has introduced its new FMD3x00 series of ECDIS systems which it says has been developed based on the insights of commercial navigators.

Furuno Electric has said that type specific training for the new ECDIS FMD-3200/FMD-3300 is now available in the Philippines.
