Danish satellite operator Sternula recently signed a partnership agreement with the maritime authority in Ghana to strengthen maritime navigation and safety in West Africa. The project has now officially kicked off with the goal to catalyse future distribution of next generation AIS technology.

Danish satellite operator Sternula has entered a new partnership with the Ghana Maritime Authority to strengthen the maritime sector in Ghana and West Africa.

exactEarth has been selected by the Government of Ghana’s Fisheries Commission (a member of the West Africa Regional Fisheries Programme) to provide satellite AIS data services and a small vessel tracking system, as part of a 12-month contract that will be worth between $1 million and $2 million.
