Inmarsat and KVH announce deal

Inmarsat and KVH have announced the signing of what the companies are calling “a reciprocal distribution agreement” covering some of their specific respective services.

Inmarsat has confirmed that it will be flying its Inmarsat-4 F2 (I-4 F2) communications satellite to a new orbital position above the Indian Ocean, creating a fourth full-service L-band region, which will offer improved connectivity capacity for customers in the Middle East and Asia (MEAS).

Inmarsat has been forced to delay the launch of its final Global Xpress (GX) satellite following the failure of the preceding Proton Breeze M launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Saturday 16 May.

Inmarsat has announced that it has approved the Global Xpress (GX) and FleetBroadband terminals manufactured by Intellian for use with its FleetBroadband Xtra service.

MVS USA has been added to Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) Value Added Reseller (VAR) network, becoming a maritime sales partner for FleetBroadband Xtra and Fleet Xpress.

Inmarsat has confirmed that its third Global Xpress (GX) satellite – Inmarsat-5 F3 – has safely arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan in anticipation of its launch later this month.

The Inmarsat-5 F2 (I-5 F2), the second satellite in the company’s Global Xpress (GX) constellation, has successfully completed its geostationary orbital deployment following its launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on February 1.

Inmarsat CEO Rupert Pearce has sold over $1 million worth of Inmarsat stock since March 20, from shares vested to him under the company’s Bonus Share Plan (BSP) and Performance Share Plan (PSP).
