Partners sign up for Global Xpress

Inmarsat has announced the latest partners for its forthcoming Global Xpress Ka-band service, after the Telemar Group and Florida-based GMPCS Personal Communications were named as the first Value Added Resellers for the product, while JRC has signed up to provide a range of connectivity solutions for the service.

MISC Berhad commits to XpressLink

Malaysian shipping conglomerate MISC Berhad (MISC) has signed up 46 of its vessels, comprised of chemical and LNG tankers, for Inmarsat’s XpressLink service, which includes a free upgrade to the Ka-band Global Xpress service after launch.

Shurat HaDin, the Israel Law Center, has launched an extraordinary attack on Inmarsat, claiming that, by providing satellite services to Iranian vessels, the satellite operator is “a direct participator in Iran’s terrorist activities and nuclear weapons program.”

Kemilinks International has become the first company to deploy the Inmarsat IsatData Pro system from SkyWave Mobile Communications, integrating the service with its Fuel Monitoring System.

Anti-piracy systems launched

A range of new anti-piracy systems from providers Applied Satellite Engineering (ASE) and Beam Communications, utilising either the Iridium or Inmarsat satellite networks, have been launched.

Inmarsat has announced that the FleetBroadband Multi-voice service, a new capability that will allow up to nine simultaneous telephone calls to be made through a single FleetBroadband terminal, is now available.

Vocality has announced that it has started shipping its BASICS Multivoice for FleetBroadband hardware platform, for use with the forthcoming Inmarsat Multi-voice enhancement to the satcom terminal.
