Cruise company Carnival has completed the installation of Intellian’s v240MT tri-band and multi-orbit 2.4 metre antennas onboard several of its cruise vessels, the companies report, with the equipment having been specifically designed to deliver data rates exceeding 1 Gbps.

Intellian launches dual FX antenna system

New generation of FB terminals planned

Inmarsat and Intellian report that they have signed an outline agreement covering the design and manufacture of a new generation of FleetBroadband terminals, supporting both the existing I-4 satellite network as well as Inmarsat’s planned sixth generation I-6 satellite constellation, the first of which is scheduled for launch in 2020.

Korean container shipping company SM Line has agreed a deal with Intellian to deploy Intellian V100 maritime VSAT antenna equipment on board its ships, to be used for data and communications services while also powering a new IoT (Internet of Things) freight monitoring system being rolled out across the fleet.

Hyundai commits to Intellian VSAT

Maritime satellite antenna company Intellian has announced that Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), has selected its VSAT antennas to be installed across its fleet of container ships.

Intellian reports that its GX100 and GX60 Inmarsat Fleet Xpress terminals have now been granted certification by TELEC, a radio equipment certification and testing body based in Japan.

Cobham SATCOM reports that it has passed the milestone of delivering its 50,000th SAILOR FleetBroadband terminal, ten years after the system was launched in parallel with Inmarsat’s L-band maritime satcom service in 2007.

Parkou tankers to roll-out Aura VSAT

Singapore based ship management company Parakou has agreed a deal to implement Satcom Global’s Aura VSAT system across its fleet of tankers, with the Ku-band service now live on eight vessels following an eight week rapid installation programme in Asia and the USA.

Intellian Technologies is set to introduce a new 65cm Ku/Ka-band convertible satellite communications system, called the v65, that will allow users to access both the Ku-band and Ka-band frequencies on the same antenna, similar to the company’s v100 1-metre unit but on smaller, lighter equipment.

Intellian Technologies reports that it’s FB250R and FB500R FleetBroadband terminals have received final approval from Inmarsat for use with the Fleet Xpress (FX) service and all associated Network Service Devices (NSD).
