Connect at Sea with MTN and WMS

MTN Satellite Communications (MTN) and Wireless Maritime Services (WMS), a joint venture between MTN and AT&T, have announced the availability of the Connect at Sea voice application for mobile communication at sea.

MTN Satellite Communications and Wireless Maritime Services (WMS) have implemented communications services aboard Carnival Cruise Lines' newest ship, Carnival Breeze.

4G networks for US Navy

Cambium Networks and Broadband Antenna Tracking Systems (BATS Wireless) are to provide a wireless point-to-point (PTP) radio and antenna tracking solution which will be incorporated as part of a 4G mobile communications networking project for the US Navy.

Flat-fee unlimited VoIP at sea

Vobal Technologies has announced the launch of its 'On-Net' telephony service, which it says will allow commercial ship owners or operators to replace traditional satellite calls with unlimited VoIP or GSM calling for a flat monthly fee.
