Cobham unveils lightweight Ka-band antennas

Cobham SATCOM is unveiling a new generation of lightweight 60cm Ka-band VSAT antenna systems, designed for High Throughput Satellites (HTS) services on Inmarsat Global Xpress and Telenor’s THOR 7.

KVH launches new Inmarsat-based service

KVH has introduced its new TracPhone Fleet One marine satellite communications antenna system, based on Inmarsat’s Fleet One service.

Intellian reports that it has partnered with Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) to receive approval for use of its 60cm and 1m VSAT platforms on the TSBc Ka-band satellite, THOR 7.

Flat panel antenna company Kymeta and Japanese consumer electronics giant SHARP have announced a development agreement to design products for the mobile satellite communications market.

Shakespeare expands range

Antenna design company Shakespeare has launched the latest addition to its Galaxy range at this year’s Nor-Shipping with the JellyFish (JF-3), a three-way omni-directional antenna that integrates LTE (2G, 3G and 4G), GPS and Wi-Fi into a single unit for vessel installation.

Intellian teams up with Kymeta

Intellian has announced that Kymeta’s flat-panel satellite antenna technology will be integrated into Intellian’s next generation of Ku-band maritime satellite terminals.

Harris CapRock has announced the launch of a new integrated maritime communications product called Harris CapRock One, which it says will feature the world’s first tri-band antenna capable of connecting to C-band, Ku-band and Ka-band services.

KVH hits 5,000 on mini-VSAT

KVH reports that it has recently shipped its 5,000th TracPhone satellite communications antenna system for the mini-VSAT Broadband network, having added more than 1,000 units in the past year.

Intelsat and satellite antenna developer Kymeta Corporation have announced an agreement to design and produce flat, electronically steerable, Ku-band mTenna satellite antenna systems optimised for the Intelsat EpicNG high throughput satellite (HTS) platform.

Intellian antennas receive GX type approval

Intellian reports that both its 65cm GX60 and 1m GX100 VSAT terminals for Global Xpress (GX) have been type approved by Inmarsat engineers following live system tests at sea on the Ka-band network.
