NSSLGlobal has launched its first-ever hybrid cellular/VSAT service for maritime vessels, the Cellular Marine System.
NSSLGlobal is expanding its range of value added services with the launch of an onboard video-based entertainment system called CrewVision.
Following a successful initial trial project, NSSLGlobal reports that it has signed a new contract with Green Reefers which will see Ku-band VSAT systems installed on board more than 18 cargo vessels.
NSSLGlobal and Telesat have agreed a deal to expand their existing relationship, with NSSLGlobal agreeing a contract for a satellite transponder on Telesat’s Telstar 12 VANTAGE satellite to add to its VSAT IP@SEA, Cruise-IP and Broad-IP services for passenger and merchant vessels.
NSSLGlobal has upgraded its VSAT network with the activation of a new beam which will extend Ku-band coverage across the entire South Indian Ocean.
NSSLGlobal reports that it has acquired Norwegian IPTV company SnapTV, a deal which will see the companies work together to promote and develop entertainment services for maritime and offshore companies.
MTM Ship Management (MTMSM), an operator of product and chemical tankers, bulk carriers and container ships, has extended its VSAT contract with NSSLGlobal to almost double the number of vessels using its IP@SEA service.
NSSLGlobal has announced a deal with MOL LNG Transport (Europe), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MOL (Mitsui O.S.K. Lines), which will see the satellite provider replace the legacy VSAT systems on board MOL LNG’s fleet of 15 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
Teekay has signed a new $4 million VSAT upgrade and contract extension with satellite communications provider NSSLGlobal, which will double the bandwidth speeds for both the onboard crew and operational network, and provide additional technical managed services to allow Teekay to roll out new fleet-wide applications.
UK Electronic Solutions, part of the NSSLGlobal Group, has launched a new self-contained motion and impact monitoring system called Oceanic Dynamics, which aims to allow offshore vessels to monitor and report impact on structures, as well as advising on engine performance and reliability.
