As part of International Women’s Day on March 8, we asked five women from Intelsat and its partners KVH and Navarino about what it’s like to be a woman working in the maritime industry today.

Navarino’s new Prodigy hybrid service, which combines Intelsat FlexMaritime’s network over a 1m v100 Intellian antenna and the L-band network by Iridium Certus, has been installed on a Millenia Maritime chemical tanker in Piraeus. Six of the seven vessel fleet is now under the support of Navarino’s FX service.

Seastar to begin Angel rollout with Navarino

Bulk carrier operator Seastar has announced plans to roll out Navarino’s Angel cybersecurity service across its fleet.

Eurobulk is continuing to expand is onboard connectivity options with Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress and Navarino.

Ship manager Roxana Shipping has recently completed a major technology upgrade project, installing Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress (FX) on all ten of its tanker fleet. The project has provided each vessel with the two Mb FX package in combination with Infinity Plus and Cobham 60 GX antennas, resulting in a significant bandwidth and technology boost for both their business and crew welfare requirements.

Greek ship operator Minerva Marine has installed Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress alongside Navarino technology onboard the majority of its managed vessels.

Laskaridis Shipping Company has recently completed the rollout of Inmarsat Fleet Xpress across its fleet of more than 40 bulkers. Having previously used Fleet Broadband, the upgrade to the Fleet Xpress 2 MB/s MIR plan is part of a forward-thinking modernisation process, in conjunction with Navarino, as the company moves towards a fully digital fleet.

Paradise Navigation adopts Fleet Xpress and Infinity

Ship manager Paradise Navigation, which operates a fleet of 10 vessels, comprising four tankers and six LPGs, is in the process of a fleet wide rollout of Fleet Xpress, having already upgraded from Fleet Broadband on two tankers.

In the glamorous surroundings of Athens’ Grand Hyatt Hotel overlooking the Acropolis, Navarino celebrated becoming the first Inmarsat Valued Added Reseller to reach its Fleet Xpress commitment of 1,250 activations.
