Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation has announced that Terminal Puerto Arica (TPA) has gone live with the Navis N4 terminal operating system to better manage increasing volumes of cargo.

COSCO Shipping Ports Limited (CSP) has announced a new partnership with Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, which will see the companies jointly run a new Center of Excellence (CoE) to support implementation projects of Navis systems across CSP’s portfolio of assets, as well as ongoing optimisation of CSP’s infrastructure.

Navis and Tianjin Port Group sign MOU

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China-based Tianjin Port Group, currently the world’s largest terminal complex using the Navis N4 terminal software system.

Ports America reports that it has implemented the Navis N4 system at its 47 acre Napoleon Container Terminal in New Orleans, Louisiana, to optimise container flows through the terminal.

E-learning program introduced for MAC3 software

Maritime software company Navis has launched its new MACS3 E-Learning system for container vessels, a web-based program providing hands-on training on the MACS3 loading computer.

Navis, part of Cargotec Corporation, has partnered with Microsoft China, terminal equipment manufacturer ZPMC and infrastructure advisory firm Moffatt & Nichol to form a joint taskforce on automation systems for container terminals.

Hull Monitor added to Bluetracker

Navis has added a new Hull Monitor module to its fleet performance management software Bluetracker, to be used to track degradation in hull performance resulting from self-polishing, fouling or damage.

Bluetracker MRV module approved

The Navis Bluetracker monitoring and reporting software has been declared ‘MRV Ready’ by DNV GL, following a validation gap analysis audit conducted by the classification society confirming that the MRV module supports three of the prescribed four monitoring methods and collects all MRV-relevant data.

Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in China has partnered with Navis to implement the MACS3 ship loading computer and the Navis StowMan stowage planning program at its training facilities to be used in the education of prospective nautical officers.

MRV module for Bluetracker

Navis is to introduce a new Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) module to its Bluetracker fleet performance management system, tailored to the new EU MRV regulations that will apply to all ships of more than 5,000 GT that enter EU ports as of January 1, 2018.
