Hull Monitor added to Bluetracker

Navis has added a new Hull Monitor module to its fleet performance management software Bluetracker, to be used to track degradation in hull performance resulting from self-polishing, fouling or damage.

Bluetracker MRV module approved

The Navis Bluetracker monitoring and reporting software has been declared ‘MRV Ready’ by DNV GL, following a validation gap analysis audit conducted by the classification society confirming that the MRV module supports three of the prescribed four monitoring methods and collects all MRV-relevant data.

Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in China has partnered with Navis to implement the MACS3 ship loading computer and the Navis StowMan stowage planning program at its training facilities to be used in the education of prospective nautical officers.

MRV module for Bluetracker

Navis is to introduce a new Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) module to its Bluetracker fleet performance management system, tailored to the new EU MRV regulations that will apply to all ships of more than 5,000 GT that enter EU ports as of January 1, 2018.

China COSCO Shipping (CCS) Group has ordered MACS3 loading computers from Navis Carrier Solutions for three 20,000 TEU container vessels currently under construction at Shanghai Wai Gao Qiao shipyard in China, scheduled for completion between April 2017 and February 2018.

Hapag-Lloyd is to begin a pilot programme to carry out the first real-world trials of the XVELA cloud-based vessel stowage and collaboration platform. Hapag-Lloyd is the first ocean carrier to sign on to the pilot.

Navis reports that a new multifunctional icebreaking rescue and emergency vessel, the Baltika, has been fitted with its Nav DP4000 (DP System) and AP4000 Heading control system (autopilot) following the completion of sea trials.

Navis Engineering has completed work on its latest project involving Singaporean offshore company Miclyn Express Offshore (MEO), following the commissioning of a DP2 system on board the 70m ROV and diving support vessel Resolution.

Chinese language DP simulator

Navis has reported that it has installed and commissioned the first dynamic positioning (DP) simulator with a Chinese language interface at the Dalian Maritime University, one of the world’s largest training facilities for seafarers.

Navis Engineering, a Finnish manufacturer of dynamic positioning (DP) systems, has announced that it has signed a scientific and technical co-operation agreement with Aker Arctic Technology covering the joint development of technology for DP systems for icebreakers and ice-class vessels.
