Second ship signed to O3b service

O3b Networks has signed a second multi-year deal with Royal Caribbean Cruises to provide satellite broadband services aboard one of its cruise ships, Allure of the Seas.

Harris CapRock Communications is to work with O3b Networks on its recently agreed contract to supply Royal Caribbean Cruises' Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, with its O3b Maritime VSAT service.

The recently announced O3bMaritime VSAT service, set to be launched in 2013 and promising download speeds of 350 Mbps to ships at sea, has signed its first customer, with the agreement of a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract with Royal Caribbean Cruises.

O3b Networks has launched its new O3bMaritime service, a Ka-band VSAT service capable of providing 350Mbps download and 150Mbps upload speeds for ships at sea.
