Kongsberg simulators for Mexican academy

Kongsberg Maritime has been selected by Fideicomiso de Formación y Capacitación para el Personal de la Marina Mercante Nacional (FIDENA) in Mexico to provide a number of offshore and dynamic positioning (DP) simulators.

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association (KOSHIPA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop and deliver an offshore training curriculum.

EMC acquires GIS

Satcom provider Emerging Markets Communications (EMC) reports that it has acquired General Industry Systems (GIS) AS, a Norwegian-based IT and communications provider focused primarily on offshore operations.

AVEVA reports that Dubai-based Eversendai Offshore has deployed its AVEVA Marine software, a set of design and engineering applications that will be used on a series of new marine and offshore projects, including topsides, platforms and ships.
