Port of Antwerp deploys autonomous drones

In order to maintain safety in the complex port environment, the Port of Antwerp is deploying an autonomous drone for the first time.

Researchers at UAntwerp and the Port of Antwerp are testing how 3D sonar sensors can be used to improve awareness of a ship’s surroundings for autonomous shipping.

A technology start-up at the port of Antwerp called T-Mining is currently working on a pilot project that aims to make container handling more efficient and secure by deploying blockchain technology to digitally manage container processes involving multiple parties.

The Port of Antwerp has reported that it has expanded and upgraded its Connectivity Platform, with new features added, and a much larger user base listing transport connections.

Antwerp and AMTOI launch India platform

The Port of Antwerp and AMTOI (Association of Multimodal Transport Operators of India) have launched India Natie, a digital platform set up to facilitate contacts between forwarders, shippers and logistics operators in the Belgian port and the subcontinent.
