DOF Group extends Marlink VSAT contract

DOF Group reports that it has renewed its VSAT services contract with Marlink for five more years, with an option to further extend its communications capabilities.

Polsteam signs up for mini-VSAT

Polish bulk carrier operator Polsteam has agreed a deal to install the mini-VSAT Broadband service from KVH on 60 vessels.

United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has chosen Marlink to deliver VSAT broadband connectivity with unlimited traffic volume across its fleet of newly built containerships, including the recently named 18,800 TEU MV Barzan.

Ships Electronic Services (SES) reports that it has won a contract to supply and install the communications equipment on Condor Liberation, a new multihull high speed ferry which will operate between Poole and the Channel Islands in the UK.

Van Oord agrees fleet-wide VSAT deal

Marlink is to provide VSAT services for the entire fleet of the international dredging and offshore contractor Van Oord, a contract expected to include 30 vessels by the end of 2015.

Canadian satellite AIS service provider exactEarth has reported that it has added three new satellites to its exactView constellation, expanding the company’s space-based AIS network to eight satellites in total.
