Statu Shipping agrees fleet VSAT deal

Turkey-headquartered Statu Shipping is to migrate its 11-vessel bulk container fleet to VSAT, using Marlink’s Sealink system and new 1GB allowance plans following a deal between Statu and local Marlink partner Ozsay Satellite Communications.

Hyproc tanker completes Fleet Xpress installation

Hyproc Shipping Company has completed the installation of the Inmarsat Fleet Xpress Ka-band service on board its LNG and LPG tanker vessel Tessala, with the installation and commissioning carried out by Fleet Xpress value added reseller Singtel.

Arkas Line to roll out Orange comms network

Turkish shipping and container company, Arkas Line (part of Arkas Holding), has agreed a deal with Orange Business Services to implement a hybrid comms network, including Orange’s communications management platform Maritime Connect and associated security services.

Teekay has extended its VSAT contract with Marlink covering its entire shuttle tanker fleet, with the communications systems set to receive an upgrade following this new deal.

Marlink is extending the number of Stena Line ships connected to its multi-band communications network, with the first out of four additional vessels set to join the service now online.

Cavodoro Shipping Corporation has implemented the Cisco-based Maritime Cybersecurity Solution from SetelHellas on board the oil tanker M/T Mistral, in an effort to safeguard its IT infrastructure and minimise the risk of cyber-attack.

OmniAccess has expanded its contract with Telesat, agreeing a deal to add new high throughput satellite (HTS) capacity on Telesat’s Telstar 12 VANTAGE satellite to serve the Caribbean.
