Marlink adds new services to ITLink

Marlink has expanded its IT management solution, ITLink portfolio, with the addition of two new service options.

ClassNK Consulting Service (NKCS) has added a new course named "Maritime Cyber Security Technical Course (Attack Method) for Responsible Officers in Land" for its e-learning cybersecurity training service.

Italian ship management company, Crystal Pool (part of the Rimorchiatori Riuniti Group) has chosen IB’s InfoSHIP Quality, a solution to record and track incidents and accidents that occur on board and manage the renewal of certificates, technical inspections and events. Crystal Pool will use the solution to improve its services, achieve zero incidents and aim to eliminate pollution.

Ship manager OSM Maritime has issued renewed confidence in Nordic cloud provider Visolit by entering a new 3-year contract, with a significant undisclosed value.

Following the latest trends and events, I feel there is a lot of noise (and sometimes misunderstandings) in the maritime industry when it comes to Digital Transformation & Innovation. I believe this may cause analysis paralysis since many leaders do not know which path to walk down and how to create a program or project portfolio to achieve their vision. Ultimately, the vision is only achieved by successful execution, but the question could remain, what to execute?

In light of the ongoing pandemic and the challenges associated with shipping, the Singapore government has further accelerated its ongoing activities to take a leading role in the digital transformation of the maritime industry. The government strongly recommends shipping companies take action to digitalise their processes and will grant funding for companies that choose innovative solutions.
