BCG releases VisionMaster radar emulation

Buffalo Computer Graphics (BCG) has added an emulation of the VisionMaster FT radar from Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine to its family of radar simulators.

Simulator manufacturer Transas Marine today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with classification society ClassNK to jointly develop standards and guidelines for the classification of maritime simulators.

VSTEP today reports that the 360-Control tug & OSV training centre whose simulators it supplied officially opened yesterday in Amsterdam.

Recommended practice for DP training

DNV GL has introduced a new recommended practice for the training of dynamic positioning (DP) operators which defines the role that simulators can play in enhancing their education.

NZ institute orders K-Sim Engine

Kongsberg Maritime says that it will supply an Engine Room Simulator (ERS) to the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) in June. This will be its first ERS delivery in New Zealand.

Simulator for ship-to-ship LNG transfer

Transas has launched an LGN handling simulator which boasts ship-to-ship transfer functionality.

Simulator developer VSTEP today announced that it has delivered additional NAUTIS Desktop Trainers to the Aigua Sea School in Mallorca, as a follow-up order six months after the initial installation of a classroom of similar simulators at the Spanish academy.
