DNV GL brings Veracity to Singapore

DNV GL has announced that its open industrial data platform Veracity has opened a new hub in Singapore with the aim to stimulate closer collaboration in the maritime sector through data sharing.

A new maritime cybersecurity operations centre (MSOC) has been opened by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to monitor and correlate data activities across all maritime Critical Information Infrastructure (CII). 

Singapore has announced that it will launch a pilot blockchain to reduce waiting times for container ships and the risk of fraud, reports Port Technology.

Singapore MPA signs 3D printing agreements

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has announced two new agreements to bring 3D printing capabilities to the port, having signed MoUs covering the creation of an additive manufacturing production facility for port applications, and the launch of a Joint Industry Programme (JIP) for additive manufacturing of marine parts.

Wärtsilä has opened a new International Maritime Cyber Centre of Excellence (IMCCE) in Singapore, consisting of a Maritime Cyber Emergency Response Team (MCERT) and a cyber academy, created in conjunction with its new cyber security strategic partner, Templar Executives.

Kongsberg has landed what it says is its largest ever simulator contract, following the agreement of a SGD$21.2 million (US$15.5m) deal with the Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs for the delivery of four K-Sim Tactical Boat Handling and Firing Simulators to the Singapore Police Coast Guard, alongside a 10-year maintenance agreement.

Wilhelmsen Ships Service reports that it has been selected to join a Singaporean government project to develop the future Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) regulatory framework for the city-state, and will receive dedicated funding for its proposed shore-to-ship delivery system as part of the programme.
