Thuraya agrees Japan deal

Thuraya Telecommunications and SoftBank Mobile, a Japanese telecommunications company, have announced they have signed an agreement to offer mobile satellite communication services to the Japanese market using Thuraya’s satellite network.

Thuraya has unveiled its SF2500 maritime satellite voice terminal, developed jointly with partner Addvalue Communications.

Thuraya has launched a dual mode handheld phone that features both GSM and satellite capabilities.
