Videotel releases Social Media at Sea

Videotel has released a new programme, Social Media at Sea, addressing the dangers of inappropriate use of social media by shipboard personnel.

Norwegian training provider Seagull today announced that it has released a module on how to draw up a ship-specific plan for the recovery of crew and passengers in distress at sea in line with the SOLAS regulations that came into force at the beginning of the month.

Japanese ECDIS manufacturer FURUNO reports that its NavSkills network of training centres issued its 10,000th ECDIS type-specific training certificate in June.

MCA approves Marlins security eLearning

Marlins reports that its eLearning security courses have been granted approval by the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Pivot Maritime International has become the first Australian training centre to be accredited by FURUNO to provide type-specific ECDIS familiarisation courses, the Japanese ECDIS manufacturer has announced.

Furuno today announced that its NavSkills network of training centres has been expanded with a further two locations in Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) and Mola di Bari (Italy).

Imtech Marine has opened a new Training Centre in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Hosted by its Radio Holland Middle East subsidiary, the facility has started with a type-specific ECDIS Training Course for Navigators and Masters to meet the demand for ECDIS familiarisation.
