Swire Pacific Offshore chooses ECDIS Ltd

Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO) Singapore has selected ECDIS Ltd as its training partner for a project that will see the UK-based company deliver various ECDIS courses over the next two years.

Kongsberg Maritime is supplying the National Defence University of Malaysia with its K-Sim Engine simulation platform, designed for training personnel in a range of engine room operations.

New offline ECDIS training at sea

ECDIS manufacturer Martek Marine has teamed up with ECDIS training provider Safebridge to deliver onboard type-specific ECDIS training without the need for internet connectivity.

Transas has signed a multi-million euro deal with Carnival Corporation to provide simulators for the cruise operator’s new Centre for Simulator and Maritime Training (CSMART) facility in the Netherlands.

Kongsberg simulators for Mexican academy

New high-speed simulator for Dutch Navy

A consortium including the Marine Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) and the Dutch Ministry of Defence is developing a new Fast Small Ship Simulator (FSSS) for the training of crews working on high-speed boats.

Preliminary results from the 2015 BIMCO/ICS Manpower Report indicate that internet access at sea is improving, contributing to improved overall welfare for the commercial maritime workforce.

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association (KOSHIPA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop and deliver an offshore training curriculum.
