KVH has responded to claims by an ethical hacker that he had managed to ‘hack’ a live satcom CommBox, the communications management system used by the satcoms company alongside its mini-VSAT system, to say that the equipment that was said to have been compromised was not connected to the KVH network, nor was it being used by a KVH satcom customer.
KVH has agreed a partnership with Ocean Exploration Trust (OET), an international scientific research organisation founded by oceanographer Dr Bob Ballard, to provide services and products to OET in exchange for feedback on various KVH products.

Singapore-based Byzantine Maritime Gas has agreed a deal with KVH for the provision of VSAT systems for its new fleet of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers.
KVH reports that it has recently passed the milestone of shipping its 200,000th mobile satellite antenna, including its TracPhone line of maritime satellite communications systems and TracVision range of television receive-only antennas.
