Samudera to implement Four Soft

Four Soft (4S) has agreed a contract with Samudera Shipping Line Ltd., a Singapore based company, whereby it will implement the 4S iShipping software solution.

In a move that is likely to spark some heated debate, Jeppesen Marine has called for government bodies, such as Hydrographic Offices, to keep out of the commercial sector and focus entirely on the production of hydrographic data.

Stratos has introduced a new Stratos Dashboard service for Iridium users, an online service that will enable its Iridium customers to manage their global satellite phone service in a convenient manner.

Iridium-based tracking for RAL

Royal Arctic Line (RAL), Greenland's principal shipping company, is to install a real-time global tracking system by Blue Sky Network aboard its fleet.

Becker Marine Systems Communication and ClearPoint Weather, a provider of global weather information services, have agreed to establish a strategic partnership, whereby Becker will integrate the ClearPoint High Definition Weather Service into its umc.global network communications service.

eLoran service launched in the UK

A new enhanced Loran (eLoran) service was officially launched in the UK on January 15th, a move which will "reinforce safety, security and protection of the marine environment around (our) coasts? according to the General Lighthouse Authorities of the United Kingdom and Ireland (GLAs).
