e-Logbook gets Panamanian approval

The Panama Marine Authority has confirmed the Transas Electronic Logbook as equivalent to a paper logbook for use on board ships registered under the Panamanian Flag.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The Transas Electronic Logbook (e-Logbook) is designed to replace a traditional paper logbook and to record all data in digital format. It is available as a software option for all users of the Transas Navi-Sailor ECDIS, and enables automated reporting.

In combination with the company’s e-Checklist, it can then be used for simplified monitoring and documentation of bridge procedures.

The Panamanian approval is in addition to the system’s compliance with IMO Resolution A.916 (22) – Guidelines for the recording of events related to navigation –  and it is also certified by DNV-GL.{/mprestriction}
